Windows 7 + T42 + wifi adapter not responding
Windows 7 + T42 + wifi adapter not responding

Re: Windows 7 + T42 + wifi adapter not responding
Do you mean "activating" or "deactivating" the adapter? I think that, without the IBM software, the adapter would be activated by default. Fn-F5 would then permit software deactivation (and reactivation).

Re: Windows 7 + T42 + wifi adapter not responding
Yep through the thinkpad utility (Fn + F5), so you are saying to use 'access connection' or which ever utility control the adapter and let Windows 7 manage the wireless adapter instead?
Before I un-install anything, I am going to switch to 'let windows manage the wireless adaptor' setting and see if this works.
Else I see an un-install spree coming up.

Re: Windows 7 + T42 + wifi adapter not responding
There are posts here regarding the big threes when installing W7.
System Interface Driver
Hotkeys Driver
Power Management Driver
I've had success installing in that order starting with the System Interface Driver. This is the site where I downloaded the working drivers. My wifi lights come on and my Fn+F5 turn wireless on and off.
Click.
Forgot to add that for my preference I do not use Access Connections. I prefer my software repository to be lean
