can I use a hp a/c adapter 100-240v 1.5 50 60hz output 19v 4.74a 89w max

Even if the coaxial plug fits into the T42 AND it has the correct polarity, I would NOT use a 19V supply on a system which is rated to use 16V. You are taking too much of a chance that something will go "ffzzzttt" :)
