I use this drive with my T23. It is not as fast as the Hitachi 7K60, but I
prefer the extra 40GB. It is quiet and pretty fast. In and out of hibernation
(768MB) in about 20 seconds each way.
Benchmarks available at tomshardware.com:

Ranked near the top in most categories, just underneath the 7K60.

I use both the 100gb Seagate Momentus and the 7K60. The 7K60 is my boot drive and the 100gb is in the ultrabay for extra storage. It works great! Seagate is by far the best hard drive manufacturer from a reliablity standpoint right now in my opinion. A five year STANDARD warranty isn't something you get from any of the other vendors.
The drive is not any noisier than the 7K60 and it runs cooler than most in my experience. I was concerned it would run hot because of the sheer density of the disk and having multiple platters and what not but it's great!
Thank you all for your reply. I will get this drive for my T42, especially 5 years warranty, not bad at all....CoolRunnings wrote:I use both the 100gb Seagate Momentus and the 7K60. Looks like it is on sale for $179.99 at Bestbuy.com. Online is backordered
5 to 7 days, but it seems to be available in store, at least in the Bay Area.

I paid $200 for mine at CompUSA when I found out the local BestBuy B&M didn't stock them anymore.
I'm extremely happy with the drive so far. Upgraded from the stock Fujitsu 5400rpm 40GB. Very quiet, much quieter than the 7K60 I used to have in a T41p.
I gave up waiting for the Seagate 100GB 7200.1, and I'm not sorry I did.
