#1 Post by neukrisz » Sun Oct 11, 2009 2:36 pm

Hi,

please help me...

How can I set to my T41 with ATI 9000 to WXGA 1280x768 correctly?

Thanks in advance!

Not possible.
You can only get 4:3 or 5:4 type resolutions.
See all resolutions here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 83#display

Use a mini-dock and connect the monitor or TV via DVI interface. You should be able to get 1280x768.

I am not sure whether the 16:9 resolution is supported, but for most 16:10 resolutions can be achieved by downloading the Omega Catalyst driver provided in the following link.

http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=File ... _cat_id=14

I use the catalyst driver on all mine T4x thinkpads to drive both 4:3 and 16:10 external LCD screens.

My T41 works at whatever resolution the monitor reports to it, using the latest IBM driver. I haven't personally tried it with 1280 x 768 but when I plug it into my monitor that has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050, it works fine and I am able to select that resolution. The on-board LCD won't go up to that though and I am unable to select that resolution if I don't have a display device that supports it plugged in.

Supposedly the WindowsXP MCE has facility to set non-native resolution. I was too cheap to buy a copy. I have a TV plugged in via HDMI/DVI and could get 1280x720 (1266x768 native) from WindowsXPP.
