Hi folks-
New T42P 2372-HTU. As advertised, PowerPlay kicks in when on battery power and slows down graphics accelleration.
I like the battery life benefit but wish I could tweak it a bit. Is there a way to control just how much it throttles back?
There is an OpenGL application I use a lot when flying on planes, and the frames per second it gives when PowerPlay is throttling things back are a bit weak. I don't need full speed, but wish for maybe twice the performance I get currently. So, if PowerPlay reduces graphics speed to say 20% (I'm guessing), I'd like to wind it up to maybe 40% instead.
I can always turn PowerPlay off entirely, but I'm looking for a finer control.
Any ideas?
Marc

You can try such programs as ATItool and RadLinker, those help you over/underclock your videocard, perhaps they'll give you a finer solution.
Just check, what clock rates apply when Powerplay is on, then increase them manually.
I'm not aware of what else Powerplay does, other than lowering the clockrates, but it should be possible for you to save power manually anyways.
