T42 SXGA+ random boots to XGA

Hi,

I own a T42 2378-FVU, 1 GB RAM, XPP SP3, SXGA+. Twice in the past couple of months it has booted into XGA resolution. When I checked "properties", the "screen resolution" slider was set to max available 1024x768 (!!!).

On reboot, everything was normal SXGA resolution (1400x1050).....Ran PC Doctor video tests after both occasions and all checked OK....

Any thoughts? (I hope this is not a precursor to the dreaded GPU issues!)

Reseat the LCD cable connector on the MB. The resolution identification is a series of shunts on that connector. It may had became intermittent.
