Removing bloat from restore disk install

#1 Post by Karlmeister » Tue Nov 10, 2009 12:53 pm

Hello Gurus,
Forgive me if this has been asked, but,
I just installed XP on a T41 using the
recovery disc set.
My question is:
What are the IBM programs I can safely
delete from (Control Panel) add/remove
programs?
Your response(s) are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Karlmeister

I posted this some time ago when I got my first T60  . It still fits today.
It's best to run the machine with the IBM bloat for a while, until you figure out what you really won't ever, ever, never ever, never, never, ever, never ever ever, ever, never, use.

I still pretty much remove all that stuff on the list today and more, message center, system update (do all updates manuall). I actually started using diskeeper though, it helps keep vista runing a little faster. I use Kaspersky AV2010 nowdays.

Thank you for your words of wisdom and
for the great link.
I will break-in the system for about three
months before I delete anything.
