T43 memory question

Just wanna know if I can use a 2GB PC5300 DDR2 memory to upgrade a T43 1871-4AU.

It's really a hit or miss. Some of the T43/p machines will work with 2GB DIMMs, but majority won't boot with it installed.

2x1GB is a much safer and likely cheaper bet, not to mention the advantages of running dual-channel RAM.
