"A" key has died

#1 Post by devanshoom » Thu Nov 26, 2009 11:32 pm

allright guys

dunno if any of you hve had this before....My "A" key is buggered (on my T42) and will only work 50% of the time...quite annoying as you can imagine. I hve had the key out and tested the embedded rubber thing under, and that is where the problem seems to be, not the key cp itself...even when i use my finger to push down on the rubber thing (quite hard too) it wont work....which makes me think i might have to buy an entire new keyboard.

Any tips would be well appreciated.

Try to clean the area of the key, and the rubber cap, and the printed board around that key as well as you can. Stuck dirt or fluids can sometimes block/weaken the contact, causing it to work off and on. No guarantee, but worth to try.
