I think this is the one you guys looking for, I can order some ship to NA, pls let me who is in.
Im trying to contact the seller to see if they will ship to NA. If not I will have my contact in China to order for me and ship them over here. The price on the website is 45 chinese dollar plus 10 s/h, total will be 7 or 8 usd. But I dont have exact number of the cost of shipping from China to here, supposing if order more, s/h will be cheap for each one.

I finally receive the sleeve from china.
It's great! The construction is goos fits like a glove and it is build with a zipper cover that ensures that the laptop will not be damaged by the zipper.
The LOGO and black color the tabs that says IBM is all nice!

I just bought one from the link you provided, but I couldn't pay with my Canadian paypal account. I says that "the recipient doesn't accept foreign currency". I sent an email to the seller but, how did you pay for it ?

T43 2686NAU (2.0GHz, 14" SXGA+) 1.25GB, Seagate 100GB 7200rpm, Bluetooth IV, and an annoying pulsating fan...
No luck, it gives me the same error:cmarti wrote:You have to go directly to paypal then look for the send money tab and in there you will see the invoice/pending pay for the sleeve.
Good luck!
"This recipient cannot accept foreign currencies. Please re-try with a different email address for the recipient".
Hopefully, when he replies back, he will give me a new paypal email that can accept my payment.

hey guys, just wondering what's going on with this thread? Based on the last few comments, it looked like Jaybert was able to buy 20 of the 'real' thinkpad neoprene sleeves (http://www-06.ibm.com/jp/pc/goods/inner ... index.html)
What's the status on that?
It also looked like a couple other guys were willing to settle for the 'not quite the real deal' sleeve from the Hong Kong/China dealer (http://cgi.ebay.de/14-1inch-Anti-shock- ... dZViewItem)
Are you guys satisfied with that one?
Other questions:
A) what's the word on pricing for the 14.1" sleeves?
B) How much are people willing to pay for a 15.1" and 12.1" version?

That's because I like the zipper design better than the flap design, and also the total comes to only 30 CAD, cheaper than anything I can get from the stores heredmar wrote:It also looked like a couple other guys were willing to settle for the 'not quite the real deal' sleeve from the Hong Kong/China dealer

i'm waiting. i presume they will be arriving next week. He mailed them out Monday, and was told 7-10 days (hopefully its quicker considering how much I paid for shipping...). I will keep you all updated once they come in, w/ pictures, pricing, shipping info, etc. I'll have 18 to sell, as 1 is going to me, and the other is going to my best friend who also has a thinkpad
Like cmarti, I also bought the Thinkpad sleeve from the chinese vendor who was very helpful and professional.
As mentioned before, it fits like a glove and I have to say that I like the fact that I can unzip the sleeve with the two zippers and then quickly use my T43 still within the sleeve - opposed to the original one from the IBM site, where you have to pull out the notebook. The quality of the chinese sleeve isn't bad either as you can even find the IBM letters on the zippers

Yes the sleeve is very good maybe if the people who don't like it have the oportunity to see it, feel it and use it they change their minds and like it and will see how good it is.
I use it all day in the office and when you are on the go you just need to zip it move to the conference room or to the meeting and then unzip it open the lappy and use it no need to remove it.
Even when you open it you see it won't cover any vent holes so the lappy has all the cooling it needs.

thanks for the info on the zippered sleeve. sounds like it was a good deal, with satisfied customers!
Too bad no one has actually gotten their hands on the elusive neoprene sleeve yet. I was hoping for some feedback regarding functionality and pricing.
I'm actually in China at the moment, and found the neoprene sleeve, but wanted to be an informed customer before buying. But since my time is running short, I'll just go pick one up later today and be the guinea pig.
I'll report back on how it goes!

alright, i'm back!
just went through the wonderful/painful process of shopping in China. So let's cut to the chase ... it's a great sleeve, but I wonder if I got the genuine article or not. I'll elaborate more upon this below.
The looks: The sleeve is as advertised. Sleek, sexy, and an ibm fanboy's delight.
With exception of 1 minor detail (which gives me suspicions that this is not the Japan version per the lenovo .jp website picture). The logo on the bottom right of my sleeve just says 'Thinkpad' instead of the red/green/blue IBM thinkpad logo. The shopkeeper told me it's a limited edition Lenovo slipcase (huh??
) I'm torn as to whether that's true, or a load of lies. (As many of you know, the majority of thinkpads, Pre and Post Lenovo, are manufactured in So. China ... and I bought this pretty much a few blocks from the manufacturing plant. Additionally, it does checkout with Lenovo's current marketing strategy to separate themselves from the IBM branding). But I digress, the bottom line is ... it's a good looking sleeve, and very professional quality. If it's a knockoff, then it's a darn good one.
The material: it's a neopren-ish material, which has a spongy feel to the touch. It's very similar to the neoprene socks that Nike shoes build into their line of ACG and basketball sneakers. It's a high gauge material that leads me to believe the memory elasticity is good. The Exterior is a black matte finish, and the interior is completely lined in red. The outer lid band is also black/red on the underside. The thread density is also pretty tight, and looks hard to snag. Lastly, the sleeve as a whole is very light, but also means it won't be saving your TP from a nasty fall (shock absorbing it is not).
The fit: perfect! I have to actually tug the opening a bit to get the sleeve to slide my laptop (x31) in. Based upon my assumptions of the material, this shouldn't warp the sleeve over time. Additionally, according to the attached information tag, they only make this in a 12.1" and 14.1" variant (sorry no 15.1").
last observations: it's a terrific sleeve, and I got it at the marked up special foreigner price of 85 RMB (~10USD). I'm sure locals could probably walk away at about 45rmb (~6USD). Overall, not a big deal.
The sad note, I was only able to buy 2 of them (12.1" sleeves). They didn't have any more, and I scoured that place top to bottom. So unfortunately, I can't pass this find onto the rest of you. I already have one snuggling my x31, and have the 2nd one lined up for an x41t.
I hope that this information was helpful to anyone wanting to know more about these, or just anxious to get one from the various other sources listed in the previous comments.
I'll try to post pics in the pics forum later tonight.
good luck and happy hunting (wish I could be of more help on the distribution front)!

I added pictures of the sleeve on Flickr. Sorry I couldn't embed them here... I wasn't quite sure how to add an image on these forums. If you'd like to take a look, you're welcome to see it at:

I've been following this posting.
I'm glad I waited for the flap design, I don't want to be careful about scratching my ThinkPad everytime I use it.
Thanks for doing the leg work jaybert!

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
