Any reason to update the BIOS?

#1 Post by rocketman » Sat Feb 19, 2005 10:42 am

I see that there is a bios update for the T42. My 2379R9U is humming along just fine, is there any reason for me to update the bios? What would I gain from doing the update?

All the BIOS versions (about a half dozen) worked fine on my T41, so I am not a big fan of "If it isn't broke, don't fix it". I prefer to apply the updates as they come so as not to fall because (as is the case with this newest updates) there are usually small bug fixes. ... JD Hurst

I agree with JD with the caveat that "if it ain't broke" I wait a couple weeks before doing the upgrade. That way, if the BIOS patch breaks something that was fine before, others will encounter it and complain before I take the plunge.

For driver updates, I dive right in but keep a copy of the old version handy just in case. Just got a new T42P and am in the process of uninstalling Update Connector because it is LAME!
