Hi and welcome to the forums.

The reason for the error is that you have a wireless card fitted which is not recognised by the bios and it throws up this error.

To fix it go here and burn the CD iso.

Power down the laptop.

Remove the wifi card.

Boot the laptop from the CD (press F12 and select boot from CD).

Run the CD and follow the instructions.

Power down the laptop and refit the card.

The laptop should now boot up without the error message.

I found this link and found it informative you might give it a try.

I think I may have the same wireless card in my T 41. I am really happy with it. Just a thought though. After I installed my card I had a hiccup of some kind. T he bios reverted back to the original setting. I don't know how, but it did it. Maybe it is just an old quirky T41. Anyway when this happened, I was dead in the water, wouldn't boot past the error and I had to make another 1802 disc in the field and disassemble the lappy. It never happened again, but not I keep a copy of the disc in my kit just in case.
Good Luck

I did some google, i saw some websites says about : IBM/Thinkpad Mini PCI Atheros 5213A 802.11 a/b/g II, which is 108Mbps like this one on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Thinkpad-Mini-P ... 5ad51f0172

Anyone tried it before, did it work ok? They said something about "This item is IBM Original wireless card .the wireless-LED work and the shortcat FN+F5 to activate the wirelress"
give me some advice , thank you

Just to identify the card in the eBay link:

Part number is FRU 39T0081 .

It's listed as from an R5x series ONLY (replacing 93P4262), and described in the System Service Parts List as being an "11abg Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II"

Other companies advertise it as being OK for other Thinkpad models, though personally I don't know whether it would throw up the 1802 error in a T4x.

I'd suggest simply burning a CD (or USB drive) and using the recommended software to get rid of the problem. I do it all the time with no problems to date - much easier (and cheaper) than waiting for a replacement card.
