Fan on most of the time after CPU upgrade

#1 Post by Shinchan » Sat Feb 19, 2005 5:35 pm

Does any one has similar problem? I upgrade my T40 237358U from 1.3G to the new 1.8G... but it seems like the fans is on most of the time when the power is plug in. I have also update teh BIOS yesterday to the neweest.

Anyone can help?

and YES.. the CPU upgrade did work.. I can see its running at 1.79 with power plug in.

My 1.8 T42 has the fan on pretty much all of the time on AC. It's probably on because the CPU generates a lot more heat than the 1.3.

I just updated the BIOS and ECP to most recent as well, will report back on whether that made a difference.

Other users have appearantly reported issues with the latest BIOS and constant fan, otherwise use some temperature reporting software, the fan starts to run if the temp. is above ~45 degrees on mine.
