Swap XGA for SXGA+

Can I swap LCD's on T43's. One is a 2687-D8U the other is a 2686-M4U. The 2687 is a SXGA+, the 2786 is an XGA. Will I be able to just trade lid assemblies? Both notepads are working now.
I have searched through the threads and if I am understanding everything correctly, as long as it is the entire lid I should be good...... I think

Both machines have ATI X300 GPU's. This is a straight swap of entire lid assemblies.
