WiFi adapter/icon missing from system tray

I have rescued 2 T43's from the scrap pile and gotten them both up and running and onto the net using a PCI card. I currently only have one hard drive with an OS made from a generic ( I don't know where it came from) copy of windows and I swap the hard drive between the 2 of them while getting them up and running. When I start either up I do not see any internal wireless icon in the system tray. When I go into the Device Manager I only see my PCI card. What should I do next? Is the problem with the OS or the wireless cards in each unit? I have a few spare wifi cards from T42s and T43s.

Wait till you get your new hard disks, the installed Windows functions correctly with the wifi cards from those T43s.

Sounds like you don't have wireless cards installed (otherwise you would see a yellow "unknown hardware" question mark in Device Manager).

Thanks, I thought of that too. I have a few options, for sure. I can't believe how nice that machine is!!
