T43 photos?
I'm very interested in seeing pictures of alll the sides with the T43 lying on the table. Especially to see if the design quirks have been ironed out or are they actually the same plastic components.

T43 vs T40/T41/T42 ?dvorak wrote:I'm very interested in seeing pictures of alll the sides with the T43 lying on the table. Especially to see if the design quirks have been ironed out or are they actually the same plastic components.
Same, same... but different!
Same black, same plastics, same screen, same keyboard.
But different!
What can I say?
I'll ask this again:
MobileGuru: can you check if the 5400rpm drive in your t43s is the older 5k80 series or the newer 5k100 seriers? thanks

I don't think that's accurate. I compared my T40 (2373-12U) to a friend's T42 (2379-VUU) and the base material feels exactly the same.
Steve007 wrote: There's little subtle changes. The T40 was the only T4x machine to have a titanium base, all the others bases were made from hardened (reinforced?) plastic.
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

Enjoy.
First of all, thanks for the pictures. They are excellent!
What I would like to know is if the build quality on the T43 has been improved as far as the keyboard flex mainly. Does the lower right part of the keyboard still flex and "thump"? How about the physical fit overall?

Sorry but nope .. I only post already announced products.mmeier wrote: interessting !!
can you share some pix of the X32, X41, R53 with us?
But i heard from a IBM source that IBM will never produce a tablet PC.
Can you convince us with the opposite by posting some specs or pics?
thx

I think that the keyboards on ThinkPads are probably some of the very best out there in the market. I haven't have a keyboard yet that seemed to give me more than a normal amount of flex .. unless the screws were loose underneath that is.Thinker wrote: MobileGuru,

The Tablet will be available from Q3 onwards. No pics or specs available for the public yet.
X32 & X41 will be announced officially in April. Again, no pics or specs available for the public yet.
I have very little information regarding the R52 at the moment. Not that I really care about the R series........!!!!!
An update to the T43 line-up in Q2. Don't get too excited, this'll just be a minor refresh.
Still, MobileGuru, perhaps you can shine some light regarding the construction, does the T43 still have that 1-2mm crack on the right side of the LCD frame? And how about the creaking of the palmrest and the larger slidehole for the multibay?

steve007,
okay
tks, very interessting.
(it´s a very vague roadmap)
but what TP no. is behind the sapporo?
I´m still sceptical , because:
does it make sense to come out with the montara chipset in Q2?????
And why split one product in 2 different chipsets??
Im not so sure about it, sorry

It is like I've said many times before .. those of us who have advanced information cannot release information here or anywhere else that is not already generally announced. We can't post pictures, we can't provide detailed specifications, we can't even really confirm or deny rumours.
As they say in france my friends, "C'est La Vie".
Don't forget that we are real people, with real jobs, and that we have rules to follow just like everyone else .. not to mention corporate ethics.
