All;
After taking an Acronis Image of the old hard drive in my T43, I replaced it with a Transcend TS64GSSD25-M SSD. During the restore process Acronis found the new SSD and purported to restore the partition.
Unfortunately, now when attempting to restart, during the boot process I receive a: “2010 - disk drive may not be compatible with bios . . . “ error. After selecting continue, instead of proceeding to boot, it goes directly to the BIOS screen.
I have never flashed the laptop BIOS.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks.

Re: T43 and Transcend TS64GSSD25-M
hi there..
I have a very 'similar' upgrade as yours ,,, on a T43... with SSD.. and a summary of what i did ( not sure it this WILL HELP)
a) FIRST STEP = UPDATE BIOS - A MUST EVEN BEFORE 'acronis copy" etc etc
(chech here for latest http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MOE-3VAM8Y)
b)Make sure Bios Controller matches also to BIOS (error 2010 never phases me, it still works but then I have custom bios on my T43)
c) Backup factory Hard Drive (full "active IMAGE" backup) Recover later as necessary
d) CLEAN install (factory recovery dvds) >I upgraded mine to windows 7 < from lenovo works nicely - just buy new Lisc keys>
e) Install OS and do tweaks ,,, less Defrag, pagefile sys etc etc (lots of suggested tweaks on line & on this forum(s))
FYI....i woudnt add SSD to T43 due to PATA drives as costwise i would buy a newer model laptop with SATA drives ..... costwise = about the same!!...onlyreason I did upgrade on mine = free SSD given to me.....

Re: T43 and Transcend TS64GSSD25-M
ausmike,
Updated the BIOS and embedded controller and it booted immediately! I still get the goofy 2010 error, but I can deal.
Many thanks for the assistance.
Cheers, Mike.
