T41p mobo in T42p

I have a T42p with the loose GPU problem, also dead USB ports. It's still alive, but dying. I have another FireGL mobo from a T41p, also with the GPU issue. I was thinking of sending the T41 board out for reflow and using it in the T42, rather than pulling the T42 board and adding downtime for the repair. Will I lose any functionality by replacing the T42p board with the T41p board?

These motherboards are fully swappable, so send the T41p one for a repair, and good luck.

I have replaced my dead T42p mainboard with a T41p mainboard a year ago. there is no difference, except the battery limiter. Everything else is kind of identical. Volume od loudspeakers is slightly lower, because the T42p (15") loudspeakers seem to be different

All I will add is that if you have a T42/T42p fingerprint reader enabled model/motherboard, the fingerprint reader function will not work with the T41/T41p motherboard. Fingerprint readers were first supported on the T-series with the T42.

You can still connect the fingerprint reader palmrest, the touchpad will work, but the fingerprint reader will not.
