LED in place of dying CCFL?

Following some previous posts on dying CCFL on 1400x1050 screen (like the mine...)
I found this page

Is it already possible to make this kind of switch for T4x series?

Would it be worth the price?
Or easier to install?

A very interesting idea and one that may be possible on a Thinkpad lcd.

However the company appears not to have tested them on Thinkpad displays - if you check their drop down box, they're not listed. This is not to say that it won't work though.

But what does concern me are the various LED indicators for battery, power, hibernate etc etc on the bottom of the display, which may not be included on the company's inverter, or if they are, may be in the wrong places.

There may also be issues with the colour temperature of the LED backlight compared with a conventional CCFL, which may cause the display to be washed out or to have a coloured background hue.

Here a guy from China mod his T43 screen to LED. Unfortunately, the images are available only for registered members.
Compaq 386SX > AST 486SX-25 > TP 390E > Compaq N410C > T41 2373-9U5 > T42p 2378-RVU UXGA 1.7@2.45GHz > T60p UXGA modded to T61 8889-ACG with T8300 OCed to 3.2Ghz@1.20V, undervolted to 1.6Ghz@0.775v, Nvidia NVS-140M undervolted to 0.9v, PCI-E ASPM enabled, 11W power in idle.
