T42 vs. T42p video ram

#1 Post by kobepm » Wed Feb 23, 2005 5:39 pm

I just recently purchased the T42 and am now wondering if I should have instead purchased the T42p in order to get the 128 vs 64 of video ram.
How important is this for now and in the future?

Also, in your esteemed opinion is the best/most functional optical drive/multi-burner?

Thanks !

If you are interested in gaming performance, the difference is not great. FireGL cards use a different bios with enhanced OpenGL drivers which look to deliver more high quality renderings rather than speed as needed by games.

I wouldn't even go as far as that - the FireGL drivers are more concerned with stability and compatibility than anything else. In short, no real reason for people who aren't using 3DS/ProEngineer/Solidworks/etc. to care.
