help required for upgrading the hdd of ibm t43 1875 d6u

#1 Post by intrepid » Thu Feb 11, 2010 6:22 am

i have an ibm thinkpad t43 laptop model no. 1875D6U it has a 14" screen, 1.73 ghz processor, 2gb ram, wifi, 40gb hdd and dvd writer. i want to upgrade the 40gb hdd to a 120 gb hdd i have already purchased a 120gb hdd of the same company as the old hdd.

recently i tried to clone my 40gb hdd using norton ghost but i could only clone the os partition of c drive, but i could not clone the service partition. i then changed the hdd and went into the bios and changed the security setting and disabled access to the predesktop area during bios. the new hdd then started working but it is only showing windows startup screen but then hangs over there.

please tell me what is to be done.
