T43 2668 not booting - 7beeps

Hi Everyone!!

I just purchased my first IBM Think Pad T43 2668 15". It was OK for a first day. Next morning I'm switching it on and getting 6 beeps and nothing happens just black screen and the fan is on.
7 beeps (4 beeps with short breaks between them and then 3 beeps with longer breaks between them).
I tried the old discharging trick with pressing power button about 10 times etc. After that sometimes the laptop will start sometimes not.

Please Help!!

Reseat the RAM. If that does not help, try each RAM module by itself.

Unfortunately Brand new RAM doesn't work as well!!
Still 7 beeps. 4 and then 3 with longer breaks between!!!

Hi whySh1n and welcome to the forums.

You say you have new RAM. What make of RAM do you have and what is the spec?

If two sticks are fitted, remove one and try again. Also try swapping the single sticks into the other slot. Also if you have old RAM tray a single stick of it in each slot.

First - many thanks for the reply!!

New memory i have is HYNIX 1GB 2Rx8 PC2-4200S-444-12. Just 1GB
It was in the slot under the keyboard so i swap it in to the one on the bottom of the laptop.
Still no luck.
The strange thing is that if i will manage to boot the laptop its ok for hours i can restart it how many times i want and its still ok. but if i will switch it off for the night the next day will not star for 100%. Then I'm trying to boot it up for a half a day or so. But recently I'm trying to boot it for a day now and nothing.
