Master And User HD Passwords On The T42

#1 Post by fionab » Thu Feb 24, 2005 11:10 am

I have set a "User Only" hard disk password on my T42. Am I correct to assume that by selecting "User" as the password type in the BIOS, that this will be the only password that can unlock the hard disk and that it cannot be reset by a master/admin hard disk password ?

Does "User Only" disable any default master/admin hard disk password ? (Is there a such a default password ?)

Many thanks in advance.

BTW: This is my first thinkpad and I can' believe how good it is. :D

Yes. With only a 'user' HDD password assigned no access is allowed to the drive w/o that pw.

There are no "default" passwords!
