T41/2 SXGA+ and UXGA screens on T43 mobos

#1 Post by nmi » Tue Feb 23, 2010 9:07 pm

I searched the forum and got most of the information I wanted, but wanted to validate a few things.

14" 1400x1050 screen from T41/2 works fine on T43 mobo with X300 graphics. I am sure of this, I am using it now!

14" 1400x1050 screen from T41/2 will not work with T43 mobo with Intel graphics.

15" 1400x1050 screen from T41/2p works fine on T43 mobo with X300 graphics.

15" 1400x1050 screen from T41/2p works fine on T43 mobo with Intel graphics.

15" 1600x1200 screen from T41/2p will work with T43 X300 mobo.

15" 1600x1200 screen from T41/2p will work with T43 Intel mobo. (This is the one I am getting ready to try, and wondering about).

Thanks!

You got it almost completely correct.

Having said that, UXGA LCD will NOT work on a T43 with an Intel board. One member has managed to modify the machine enough to accept it, but would only work in Linux and not in Windows, as far as I recall. A weird situation indeed. Had something to do with the particular hack that has to be applied to BIOS...

Now, in my book, unless you know perfectly well what you're doing, you don't attempt to modify BIOS on your own.

Good luck.
