S-Video problems with T43 type 1875-D64

#1 Post by owensct » Mon Mar 08, 2010 5:13 pm

Hi all,

New to the group and recently picked up a second hand Thinkpad T43 and i have a bit of a problem and was hoping someone might be able to steer me to a solution. I've searched the forum and Google and I am unable to find anything on this issue, so I decided to post to the forum.

I have an IBM Thinkpad T43, type 1874-D6U, with the Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset family for the video. I am running the Intel driver set from the Lenovo website version 6.14.10.4693 which I obtained from here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62899

I am trying to get the S-Video to work and can’t see to do so. I did a lookup for S-video for the ThinkPad T43 and found this on the Lenovo site, http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 25.html#ie

The section that is listed for the T43 with the Intel 900 series chipset says to right click on the screen select Graphics Options >>Output To >> Intel® Dual Display Clone then Televison + notebook.

The problem is I don’t have an option for "Output To" in the pop up menu. The only options I have are Panel Fit, Hot Keys, Tray Icon and Rotation.

Am I missing something, do I have to do something special to get the Output To option to show up on the menu?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gordon

Hi All,

Just a update, I just did a little more testing and hooked up a second monitor and volia I now have the Output To showing up in the menu, but it only shows output to Monitor not television.

The device I am trying to connect to the system is a set of VR goggles called MyVu. They should be recognized as a television, but are not. To make the problem a little stickier the goggles only have composite input, so the cable I have goes from S-Video to composite. Plugging the cable into the T43 then the goggles doesn't seem to trigger the Output To option to appear on the menu.

Does anyone know if there is a chnage I can make in the registry that forces this option to true for the Output To menu options with all available options showing up?

Thanks

Gordon
