I am desperately looking for a new flatmate. NOT in this post though...
There was a 15" SXGA+ T43 which worked excellently till some jerk dropped a 25kg wooden box on the top of the left corner of its LCD. The ThinkPad was open on a table and had a severe damage on the LCD and lid - also the HDD died from the 3 meters vertical and 1 meter horizontal drop. The LCD was smashed (and bent), the lid was broken and the left hand LCD support bracket was also bent. I have bought a Hitachi HDD (and get rid of the 2010 error) and also got the LCD on Tue.
I installed the screen just to figure out there is a green vertical line on the left hand side of the screen. LCD has been sent back, replacement arrived yesterday. Installed, no problem. Then when I moved the screen the lines were back.
I made a video to demonstrate this
So when you move the top lid a few coloured vertical lines come up. You can find positions or movements when the lines will go away - until you touch the lid and try to move. Cable at the back is securely connected and taped to LCD connector.
I am stuck and need your feedback – what should I check? The LCD is not an IBM one (no FRU) but the same model – and works OK despite the lines.
Please
