T42P 15" GPU Problems/Possible upgrade???

Hi,

I have T42P 15" that unfortunately started having the GPU problems. I am considering whether to change the motherboard; however, the new motherboard might develop the same problem down the road. From what I've read so far, superior reball is not very highly recomended????

So here is my dilemma:
1) change the motherboard and hope for the best???
2) Should I go the superior reball route; although I have read a lot of bad reviews???
3) Can I use the 15" screen with with a T43p or T6X base???

I would appreciate any suggestions!

You can throw a T43p motherboard in that base, with a couple of mods, and enjoy.

T60 might be a hit or miss, depending on the actual screen your machine has, and you'd have to move it to the new frame.

Personally, I'd try to find a board if I liked the machine well-enough, from a reliable source.

You may want to post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's Marketplace and see what happens, expect to pay $100-150 for a known good, properly tested T42p planar.
