does anybody know if the 15% discount when purchasing with a visa credit card is a recurring deal that visa offers or was this a one time deal? i just checked the visa website and it says that the current 15% discount they are offering expires on 2/28/05.
i am hoping to purchase my first thinkpad in the near future, probably the t43 but i want to hold back until i can hear about customer feedback. therefore, i would like to know what my options are after the visa expiration.
on a similar note, if one calls an ibm representative regarding the terms of the educational discounts they offer, do they strictly limit them to the schools they have contracts with (for example i know they contract with harvard). i just checked with my college alma mater and my current medical school, but unfortunantely they both deal with dell and apple, not ibm. if i mention my student status at a non-contract school, do the ibm reps ever make exeptions on a case by case basis. with my student budget, paying the full regular price with no discounts would be pretty tough.
i appreciate any input you might have. thanks
Visa discount expiration?

There will probably be "perpetual deals" through Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express that are exactly the same discount as SPP (stockholder pricing).
Contact Bill to see if he has a better deal.
He can save you tax and can check for dead pixels prior to sending the notebook to you. I have spoken to him, and he is a super-nice guy!
