Fn + F5 not working. How do I turn wireless off and on
So as the title says Fn + F5 is not working. How do I turn wireless off and on. It has not been working for awhile but never needed to turn it off. Now I just switched internet companies and having a problem connecting with the Ethernet. It seems it is conflicting with the wireless. Need to turn it off.

First, I would suggest solving the Fn+F5 issue. It's convenient to have.
But in any case, you have two simple options:
1) disable the wireless device in the device manager (it should have a red X over it when disabled, and Windows won't try to use it, but you can easily re-enable)
2) if you want a more permanent solution, you can disable the wireless in the BIOS, but then you will have to reboot every time you want to re-enable it

Re: Fn + F5 not working. How do I turn wireless off and on
Thank I opened the device manager and there was already an X there. I assumed Windows did it for me since it asked me earlier "we can see that this computer has wireleess and ethernet which one do you want to use. I chose ethernet. Thanks.
How would I resolve this? I think this was updating software issue. That never got fixed. The other Fn work so.... I don't know. I can't even get online on my laptop so no chance of updating now.

Don't remember how, but could you try some sort of key redefinition for you keyboard layout?

Could you please post the model number (6-didgets - example 23737fu), and tell us if you have changed the wireless card - the program is probably still in the setup folders, you just need to re-run it.

Hey so. The ethernet still had a problem working so I just gave it a break. Now I am in a library with the wireless.
What are your suggestions to get then FN + F5 working again? You sure it is not just an update? Thanks alot.
I have a T43 14' 266876u.
Original wireless card. IBM not Intel.

See if there is an update to the driver sofware for you wireless card.
If you are using access connections, try to change the profile to one with ethernet.
If you are using windows XP and wzc, open "network connections", and make sure that the wired network adapter is enabled - it can be disabled automatically to save power if it is not plugged in.
