T42 Non-Express Shipping Earlier?

I have seen several posts indicating that a T42 shipped much earlier than the original IBM estimate. My question is: Is it only the Express Models that ship earlier? Or, have some of you had the "regular" models ship earlier than expected?

My 2373-9XU was not scheduled to ship until 6/26, but it shipped yesterday. I don't think it was an express model.
