t41 wifi upgrade question

#1 Post by herkulease » Mon Feb 28, 2005 8:10 pm

Hi i have a t41 that current as a cisco wifi card installed.

anyhow I want to upgrade to one that supports 802.11g

IBM's parts page shows two of them

one P/n #73P4301
link ->http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... lCurrId=73

and p/n #31P9701
http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... &storeId=1

what's the difference between them besides 40 bucks or so?

any help will do.

also is removing the old card and replacing the card difficult? besides a few screws?

The first one, the cheaper one, is the one you should get. It is based on the more recent Atheros 5004X chipset as opposed to the more expensive one using the earlier 5001X chipset.
