T41: max. resolution of external display?
Hallo,
I have got a T41 machine with native display resolution of 1 024 x 768 px equipped with ATI Radeon 7500.
What is the possible maximum resolution of the external display connected to my T41? Can the maximum resolution at which the external display performs be changed by an upgrade of the Radeon 7500 driver or is it a matter of hardware and thus cannot be changed?
[Today it works well with my EIZO display at its maximum of 1 280 x 1 024 px. I consider to buy a new display.]
Thank you,
Petr

Welcome to the Forum.
See also this, at the very end: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-58183
The max. resolution is hardware-determined, drivers cannot change that.
Code: Select all

Re: T41: max. resolution of external display?
Digitally attached external monitor resolution can be further limited by docking stations/port replicators.
Re: T41: max. resolution of external display?
Can, but probably isn't. 1600x1200 is definitely possible, even though some specs said 1280x1024 is the max through the dock. I bet 1920x1200 will work too.

I can confirm also wide resolution 1680x1050 through DVI interface on dock for T40 (same graphics).
