Wrong refresh rate on external monitor

#1 Post by PsychBiller » Fri May 07, 2010 5:19 pm

I am trying to hook up an external monitor to my beloved T40. I have the Advanced mini-dock, I think. It's more than a port replicator (more connections), but not a full docking station with bays, etc.

The external monitor is an analog Viewsonic G75f. I connected it to the video port of the mini-dock

I normally run the T40 in 1024x768 mode, which would be fine for the Viewsonic. My intention is to close the lid on the T40 and just use the Viewsonic.

Presentation Manager won't let me set the resolution of the external monitor to 100MHz. It's hard on my eyes to run 1024x768 at 60Hz! I also can't seem to install the Viewsonic monitor driver. The T40 doesn't pick up on the fact that there is a new piece of hardware installed.

I've never tried to do this, so maybe I'm missing something simple.

Presentation Manager is version 2.57. My T40 has the ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. I have the latest drivers according to the Lenovo/IBM Web site.

Thanks for any help!
