Replacement motherboard for: UXGA 15'' T42p, type: 2373-kxm

The mother board, P/N. 93P4159, has the classic gpu failure symptom. I am going to give reflowing a go.

In case the reflow does not work, I'll be looking for a replacement m/b.

Apart from P/N. 93P4159 given above, when I do internet searches the number: 39T5454 comes up as suitable.

I can find no document that strictly relates one to the other, and IBM's support site gives no reference to 39T5454.

I have not yet queried the sites selling the 39T5454, which I will do, but I am hoping to get information independent of them.

Can anybody shed any light on the relationship between 93P4159 m/b and 39T545 m/b?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Any T42p motherboard will work just fine, they're all of the same size, the only difference being that some of them support FPR while others don't and that they may or may not have enhanced GPU support which lessens the chance of failure.

Expect to pay $100-125 plus shipping from a reliable U.S. source, don't know what the prices are like in Australia.

I doubt, if I get a replacement m/b, it will be from Australia, little volume here.

That said, can you suggest any US suppliers about the price range you put forward - I will check to see if shipping to Oz is an option?

Post a WTB ad in the forum's Marketplace and I'm sure that someone will come to the rescue...
