Where to buy IBM thinkpads

#1 Post by vutown » Thu Mar 03, 2005 2:49 am

Guys,

Newbie here. I'm looking for a place to buy a T40 thinkpad in the SF Bay area. I don't quite trust this whole ebay thing. (I got burned once for an ATI 9700 Pro card). I'd like to come check it out, pay for it and have it to play with. Any of you guys know if such a thing exist or am I asking too much?

Any ideas or names would be great.

Thanks in advance,
vu

Sure, the FS/WTB section of the forums would be a good place to start.

Also, Bill (host of this site), is having some great sales on some of the newer T42's. No sales tax, and if you want, he has a "no dead pixels" pre delivery check. See him at http://www.thinkpads.com/start.htm

If you buy directly from IBM there is a 30 day no question asked return policy. You can play with it for 3 weeks, which I believe should be plenty of time to review the computer and if you like it you keep it. If you don't you can return it for full refund.
