Nedded: Japanese preload on a T42

#1 Post by Christian » Thu Mar 03, 2005 5:26 am

Hi,

I really need a set of CD's with a japanese preload for an IBM T42. Should any of you guys have it and willing to upload to me then please let me know.

Its for one of the employees at work and he needs it to communicate with people in japan. I managed to get a keyboard but i would really not have to install a whole T42 with all the small programs in Jap.

Thanks,
Christian

What you really need is a MUI for Windows XP.

Windows XP Multilingual User Interface Pack CD 1 (Multi-Language)

It contains Japanese on CD1. this allows you to setup different user account with different Language. Ie, you could have a account with pure Dutch... an account with pure English or an account with pure Japanese.

If you can obtain or find someone with MSDN access, its in there for free.

If it is just for communication purposes you don't need Japanese OS or the MUI.

You can just set up in regional / language setting in Windows XP / 2000 to allow you to type and display Japanese characters. I do this for Korean, Japanese and Spanish.
