TP adapter: 08K8204 vs 02K6699

#1 Post by zver17 » Thu Mar 03, 2005 4:45 pm

i bought an adapter on ebay (advertised as p/n 02K6699, from bestseller239, for $22) and, after 1.5months of waiting and finally lodging a paypal complaint, it finally arrived. however the actual p/n on it is 08K8204. I checked the specs (eg, output, 16V-4.5A) and the only difference I found with the brick that shipped with my t42 is the input: 1.5A-0.9A instead of 1.9A. Should I be concerned?
many thanks!

I received a 02K6750 with my T41, and it is rated thus:
Input: 100 - 240V
Input: 1.4 - 0.7A
Output: 16V at 4.5A = 72 Watts

I purchase an extra from my bona-fide IBM partner and it is an 08K8204 (same as yours), and is rated thus:
Input: 100 - 240V
Input: 1.5 - 0.9A
Output: 16V at 4.5A = 72 Watts

The latter brick is physically smaller than the former brick and I expect that accounts for the extra input current. It is a fine replacement adapter, so you should have no problem with your purchase. ... JD Hurst
