T43p Using Recovered O/S on CDs to a nonOEM hard drive

#1 Post by Think43p » Fri Jun 04, 2010 3:39 am

Yesterday I created Recovery CDs(1+5) on my T43p. The process went smoothly with no glitches.

But Im planning to use an externally purchased drive (Seagate or Fujitsu) and Id like to have the same R&R partition like the Thinkpad had when it originally came from IBM.

Is there a standard process to follow?

No special process. Install the new drive and start by booting the first CD created...follow the prompts to restore the machine to factory settings/contents.
