T41: DVD writer and sound

Hi,

I have a T41 and I would like you help in two questions:
1) when I set the volume to maximum and if there a pause or if I am not listening to anything, the speakers make some strange noises... I hope this is not normal...

2) I want to buy a dvd writer. I heard about the Panasonic UJ-812(http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/com ... UJ-812.pdf), but it is too slow. and the NEC ND-6500A Slimline 9. I am not sure if the NEC works on T41... Is there any option with 8x?
