Hi,
How can I control the fan speed of my t43 thinkpad? I would like to make it go always at max speed (seems to be around 4700 RPM), since it seems to do that only when the CPU temperature goes over 80 C (176 F). When the temperature drops back to 70 C (158 F), the computer sets the fan RPM back to 4000 or something, so the heat starts to raise steadily again.
I have observed the fan RPM with TPfancontrol, but it doesn't seem to be able to actually alter the fan speed (I can't click any of the mode choices). Same thing happens with SpeedFan; the program doesn't seem to recognize the fan(s) at all.
So what's the trick behind manually controlling your fan? It is important to me to keep the computer as cool as possible, since I like maximum performance while gaming, and I don't care about the power saving or noise.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I'm terribly sorry I posted to the wrong section, how can I move this?
Controlling t43 fan?
Re: Controlling t43 fan?
Fan parameters should be controllable by appropriate edits to the tpfancontrol ini file. As I recall, the ini file describes the purpose of each section and the effect of particular values.
Always worked for me.

Re: Controlling t43 fan?
Thanks a lot, found the option.
I don't recall any reference on the readme towards the .ini file, so I didn't even check it out..

Re: Controlling t43 fan?
Should this thread be moved to the T4x Series forum?
