Right I have a T41 that has a screen issue, I have diagnosed it as a dodgy bulb as new invertor didnt help and it runs fine on external monitor.
My Q is even tho it runs fine on an external screen could it still be the graphics card issue?
Reason I ask is just got another one of Ebay that has intermitent black out and even locks up I'm hoping that when it gets here I'll able to use screen as seller stated it was the usual graphic problem.
Also can I use the CPU from the donar T41 and wifi in a R31?
Oh yeh also bought a IBM Levovo Multiple Battery Charger for £10.99, is that good or not?
The link to wat I bought is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... SA:GB:1123 can u tell me if I got a good price?
T41 Query
Re: T41 Query
Yes is is possible to have a good working external LCD yet still have a bad or loose GPU. The reason is because the signal to the external is different from the one to the internal LCD. As far as the CPU swap, the R31 takes a Pentium 3M Tullatin, and the T41 takes a Pentium M. They are different sockets and not interchangeable.

Re: T41 Query
Hi Spike
The T41 "bulb" issue is just as likely to be a blown motherboard fuse. If you have access to a multimeter you can check them using this document which shows their locations.
In particular check F3, F7 and F8.
If you're unable to check them, you may wish to send both Thinkpads to myself to repair. We do graphics chip reflowing and reballing and advertise here on the forums.
Also we replace fuses which won't cost you a lot as well as CCFL tube ("bulb") changes too.
If this is of interest to you please could you email me on nick@reflowrepairs.com and / or PM me. I'll need your email so that I can send you a proper quote.
