Really annoying problem...

#1 Post by BranE » Sat Mar 05, 2005 11:31 am

Okay, so I decided to do the slipstream and everything worked well except for my wireless drivers. ("Network Controller" has the big fat yellow ? in device manager).

I've tried a whole bunch of different drivers but none of them work. I've called support a few times but they seem to be rather clueless (the guy knew my model number which has the 2915 82533 chipset Intel a/b/g and told me to install an IBM b wireless card driver ?!)

It seems that IBM doesn't have a driver for this wireless card which is really irritating. They have the 2100, the 2200, and the IBM card, but not mine.

I can't get this to work and I'm really frustrated. Can anyone else give me advice that has the Intel pro 2915abg wireless card?

Thanks.

Okay, I seem to have fixed this problem.

Now I have just one annoyance. When I boot up it appears that I have two copies of Windows XP installed and it wants to pick one of the two. The first boots in fine (this is my latest install). The second is incomplete. How can I get rid of this second install?

msconfig
edit the boot.ini record.

Okay. I got a working driver but I get this error message when I start up access connections:

"Unable to change power state of 802.11 wireless radio. Update the driver for the wireless adapter"

Can someone with the Intel 802.11abg wireless card please let me know where I can find the drivers? I cannot find them on the IBM website.

Thank you much.
