ThinkPad "Skin Cover" for the keyboard
ThinkPad "Skin Cover" for the keyboard
Hello.
I am currently waiting on my new t43p arrival and in the mean time I am looking on the web for accessories to complement my new order when it arrives. What caught my eye was a keyboard skin cover. This seems to be very useful, but it could feel awkward in usage.
http://www.protectcovers.com/laptopf.htm claims to have custom molded ThinkPad Skin cover for the keyboard. Has anyone tried anyone of these skin covers with their T-Series? If so, how was the fit and was it comfortable to use?
Thanks in advance.

I could image that such a "skin" can damage your display. The space between the keyboard and the display is very small and under nomal circumstances they don't touch each other.
That is what I hated on my old Dell Inspiron 8000: You could see scratches on the display from the keyboard!!!
With this skin this could be different.

If you carry your laptop in any kind of casing where there will be pressure on it, you will probably see impressions. When I load up my laptop backpack or laptop case with stuff, I can see a couple minor impressions on the screen from the TrackPoint and sometimes a few keys. These impressions usually come off with cleaning, but this "skin" might change that.
Have used just about every ThinkPad since the T42 days...

No. The TP keyboard is one of its greatest assets. Why would I want to add something that changes the way it feels and responds?

From what I hear it is a joy to type on a ThinkPad. I may be a bit over protective at times especially with things I pay heavy money for. I would hate to see a scratch or a spill on this beauty.

Though I'd love to be proven wrong. It would have to be *really* thin and *really* flexible.
