T43 BSOD Star Wars Galaxies DirectX 9.0 Issue

#1 Post by bowspearer » Sat Jul 03, 2010 5:40 pm

Having a problem with Star Wars Galaxies and my T43. The game plays for a minute or so, then crashes with a BSOD before restarting. When windows reboots and sends off an error message, I get sent to a webpage telling me that I'm not DirectX 9.0 compatible. The irony is that according the SWGs config screen, I'm running DirectX 9.0.

Any ideas? I bought this laptop as a reconditioned unit last year and have made no hardware mods to it.

Go to Control Panel, doubleclick on System, select Advanced/Startup & Recovery-Settings and under System Failure untick Automatically restart.
Reboot the laptop and start playing.
It will now tell you on what it crashes, when it happens next time.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
