T43p Looking for a Replacement AC Power Adapter

Hello Folks,

I have been looking around to replace the AC power adapter due to the scorching heat it generates.... it's a two prong P/N 02K5810.

I love the size (it's small!) of the adapter however it gets so hot it literally heats up my room. It's great in winter however

I was wondering if there is a well-made 3 prong replacement with the same size but with a lot less heat generated. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Any Thinkpad AC adapter manufactured for sale in the US or Canada has a 2-prong power cord. 3-Prong cords are available though, see the following parts list;

T43P's take a 72watt AC power adapter. If yours is heating up, and due to the fact that you say it is small, that leads me to believe that it is a 56watt adapter. If that is the case that would explain the heat generated. I highly recommend that you get a correct 72watt adapter for your machine. Among other problems potentially caused by using a lower wattage adapter is slower or incorrect battery charging and/or lack of proper power to run in a dock.
