difference between T42 and T42p

#1 Post by mikeh420 » Mon Jul 26, 2010 7:04 pm

What is the difference between these two models? I'm looking for batteries for this model, I have a 2373-K3U and I was told it was a T42, and I'm seeing different batteries for the P and non-P models.

Thanx
ThinkPad T42 2373
Pentium M 1.7GHz
2 GB Kingston RAM
40 GB HDD
Windows 7 Enterprise
2878 Docking Station

The batteries are the same.

Isn't the only real difference the FlexView screen and the graphics card?
(In the 42p, that is.)

Well, things are slightly more complicated than that...yes, the main difference is the graphics card (Fire GL T2 on "p" models vs. Radeon 7500/9600 on non-"p" units)...

However, T42p existed in a 14" SXGA+ guise as well, so no FlexView there.

Furhermore, 15" SXGA+ versions of T42 have FlexView screens.

And then, of course, there's a 15" version of T42p with an UXGA FlexView screen...

Doh! I just noticed the model # below and on the right of the screen, it's a T42.

Thanx anyways.
