- Lenovo factory outlet store: http://outlet.lenovo.com/accessories/batteries.html ("scratch and dent", returns, refurbished or new)
- Marketplace forum: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewforum.php?f=11 (probably not many "new" batteries but you should find some trusted sellers here)
- eBay: http://www.ebay.com/

Be careful ordering at Lenovo, I ordered a battery supposedly for a T model, but it's only for a T60 and above. I have a T42. Then they wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee because THEY sent me the wrong battery, but I refused.

Lenovo does not have a battery for a T42, they have sent me directly to IBM parts

mAH=longer battery life, but know that advertised battery mah may not be accurate, specially with those aftermarket Chinese batteries.
