T42 fan replacement fallout

I replaced my T42 fan about a month ago and it died a few days ago. I just put a replacement in and now I'm having trouble getting into windows. I'm running Windows 7 and the message below pops up. Any idea why this would be caused by a replacement fan? I haven't touched anything else.


Windows Boot Manager. Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Status: 0x000000e

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.


UPDATE: Well I decided I might as well follow the above instructions, and sure enough it took care of the problem...
