T43: WinXP BSOD when loading STPD.SYS, Cant get to Safe Mode

Okay my T43 has been going BSOD during Startup.
Even during SafeMode startup.

So I cant get into Windows do that change. I have tons of different Bootable CDs/DVDs & tools.

I cant even read the BSOD completely and it reboots again. How do I make it pause at the BSOD so as to be able to Google for the problem / solution ?

Thoughts?

Loading SPTD.sys.. Thats where it BSODs.

- How to make it pause at the BSOD, so we can read it? (Esp when we cant get into Windows) ?
- How to figure out a fix for this BSOD?

UPDATE:

Got into Safe Mode using certain Boot CDs etc.

Are you running Daemon Tools 4.x or Alcohol 120%? I believe that is the 'SCSI pass-through direct' driver that they install.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCSI_Pass-Through_Direct

If you can get into safe mode you may need to delete that file manually and/or uninstall+reinstall Daemon Tools/Alcohol. Might also try the latest version of the driver from http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads . The driver is apparently known to be incompatible with some debugging tools.
Current Thinkpads:
X31, X40, X61T, X61, X201, X220 (i7 IPS), W520 (2720QM/2000M/FHD), T440p (i7-4800MQ/GF730GT/FHD)
Dells: Latitude C840, Precision M70, Precision M4400, M6400 (WUXGA), M6600, M6700
Daily driver: Dell XPS 13 w/Kaby Lake+Iris Pro+TB3

Thanks for the Aumha link. Thats a great page for BSODs.

I was able to figure out that its a SCSI related thingy. But I never installed Alcohol on this machine or Daemon tools.. well not that I remember.

What I was able to do.

Safe Mode booting.. Pressed Esc when it said SPTD.SYS ...Press Esc to prevent loading.

Got into safe mode. System Restore point was a waste of time.. So next boot went in and did the BSOD Pause instead of Restart.

Some more googling, I got the threads on Renaming (in Windows) / Disabling (Using Win XP Recovery Console & DISABLE SPTD command) / Uninstalling SPTD (Windows Device Management Console).

Did all of the above and now it boots.

I am wondering if I should just do a Factory System Restore from the HIDDEN RESTORE PARTITION (If it still works)...
- How do I do that?
- Can I check before to see if its a-ok?
- Last option next time this happens would be to install a fresh WinXP OEM.
