I have an Old T21 I tried to tunr on after 2 years. It Seems that the internal power thing is broken becasue it wont run off of AC power, and it wont charge the batteries. It only works until the battery dies.
Is there anything I can do? I dont want to spend any money.
If its dead I am going to try and put the 800mhz P3 processor in a 600X with a 650 mhz p3 processor.

I'm afraid the idea of using your PIII 800MHz chip in the 600X 650MHz is a cracking idea, however it has one problem akin to pouring a pint into a quart pot.
It won't work, or fit.
The 600X takes MMC-2 modules which are basically the CPU and chipset mounted on a small carrier card and connects to the laptop mainboard with a high density connector.
Your T21 uses a ZIF socketed CPU, like Socket 370, or Socket 7. I'm not sure if in the T21 if its BGA or FC-PGA, but one thing is for sure, that 800MHz baby in your T21 ain't gonna play with your 600X.
Other sugestion re: T21, ensure the screw directly below the AC socket on the underside of the T21 is tight, as that screw may have come loose and thus the AC socket is not properly connected to the mainboard.
Sowwy!

Wow Vicky, on this side of the pond we have no problem putting pints into a quart pot, at least until it's full.lilserenity wrote:it has one problem akin to pouring a pint into a quart pot.
No wonder those pints in the local have such an effect on me, they're bigger than our quarts!

Don't blame me, blame my boss, and my parents for the rather odd saying
Tried explaining to them it doesn't make sense, less so than a lead balloon going down because actually it would go down well. So I'm not sure really what they were trying to say with fitting a pint into a quart pot, but sure enough I've picked it up myself
Still, a couple of quarts down the local would probably sort me out for the night and save on trips to the bar
